The project brief

Trent Dementia had a basic website which needed some attention, and their branding had done a great job over the years but was in need of a refresh. The charity wanted to be able to highlight their projects and receive donations online.

Pixelshrink has been a great help to our small charity, Trent Dementia, helping us to update our Atdementia website guiding people to information about assistive technology and dementia. They have also been really helpful with other dementia related resources. They’ve been a real pleasure to work with.

Our solution

Dementia project web design is a speciality for Pixelshrink Digital Impact and we’ve had a long association with Trent Dementia. Once we helped hand over their ATDementia directory website to a partner, it was a pleasure to help them with a rebrand. The website has a professional look and feel based around our branding design, with a subtle bridge theme evoking the local landmark Trent Bridge and the charity’s work to enable people living with dementia to express themselves. We advised on the best donation platforms for their needs.

Trent Dementia is a small dementia charity based in Nottingham, which improves the quality of life for People Living with Dementia through organising events and projects. Uniquely, their annual event and activities are led by people with dementia.

Our specialist services

Web design for people with dementia

  • We developed the Trent Dementia website with a special focus on website accessibility for people with visual and cognitive impairments – so it’s very easy to change to a high contrast or large text setting.
  • As part of the rebrand, we migrated the site to a more memorable domain name.
  • Our branding design has revitalised the brand, and provided a distinctive look and feel for pull-up banners and ID cards. Special consideration was given to the colours used, consulting academic research on what would be most suitable for people living with dementia.
  • Donations are important for a charity, and we’ve handled setting up the various donation channels, evaluating the best solutions.
  • The Dementia Day to Day blog is finding a home on the Trent Dementia website, and we’ve handled its development and migration.
